SEMA INSTITUTE OF YOGA - TEMPLE OF HERU

A Hymn to Heru
(From the hieroglyphic text The Death of Heru)

"HERU is the savior who was brought to birth, as light in heaven and sustenance on earth. Heru in spirit, verily divine, who came to turn the water into wine. Heru who gave his life, and sowed the seed for men to make the bread of life indeed. Heru, the comforter, who did descend in human fashion as the heavenly friend. Heru, the word, the founder in youth, Heru, the fulfiller of the word made truth. Heru, the Lord and leader in the fight against the dark powers of the night. Heru, the sufferer with cross bowed down, who rose at Easter with his double crown. Heru the pioneer, who paved the way of resurrection to the eternal day. Heru triumphant with the battle done, Lord of two worlds, united and made one."

Heru says: "I am the hawk in the tabernacle, and I pierce through the veil."

VISION & MISSION STATEMENT

As an authorized chapter of the Sema Institute of Yoga, the Temple of Heru is committed to the propagation of the teachings of Shetaut Neter and Smai Tawi under the direction of Sebai Maa  (Muata Ashby) and Seba Dja.   Our local chapter is headed by Uab Set-na Nebi Ra, an ordained priest of the Sema Institute.

Shetaut Neter is the religion and its mystic teachings based on the varied traditions centered around different gods and goddesses. Smai Tawi  are all the yogic disciplines, techniques or technologies used to transform a human being.

Our vision is to have an active presence in the Atlanta area.  The mission is to foster the teachings of our existing members  as well as new members.  While we engage in studies and yogic disciplines to promote the spiritutal development of our members, we will also engage with other groups in the comunity to spread the teachings and to have an active presence in our community.

Through our aspirations and expressions, we the members of the Temple of Heru will endeavor to reflect the ideals of Neterianism, so we can become beacons of light reflecting our glorious past as well as revealing a pathway for those who choose to follow.
